I firmly believe that only by understanding what goes into a handmade product\u2014the time, the technique, the silence, the mistakes, and the learning\u2014can it truly be appreciated and help increasingly rare crafts stay alive. <\/p><p>That&#8217;s why in each workshop, besides the artistic activity itself, I show my process step by step: how silk is painted, how it&#8217;s set, how it&#8217;s prepared for a silk fan&#8217;s pleating. I also talk about the materials, techniques, their history, and uses, so that participants can feel and connect with the essence of a traditional craft.<\/p><p>At the same time, these gatherings stem from my belief that creative activity is an opportunity to form spaces for socialization and collective connection, a place to share, listen, and create together. Working with your hands and creativity is also a way to drain pain, to de-stress a mind so saturated by the pace of modern life, and to listen to oneself. <\/p><p>Because those who move their hands move their soul, and because I am convinced that everyone carries an artist within them with the capacity to create; all that&#8217;s needed is the time, space, and confidence to let it
