Description
The Anthropomorphic collection is born from the most authentic inspiration: the tiles of the Carlos V Pavilion in the Gardens of the Royal Alcรกzar of Seville. I’ve rescued their unique motifsโthe Faun, the Unicorn, and the Centaurโand combined them with the harmony of their borders.
I’ve hand-painted each figure, using the original palette of these centuries-old tiles: blues, greens, blacks, and honey tones. Colors derived from natural Cobalt, Copper, Manganese, and Iron oxides stand out against a pastel background that provides calm and luminosity.
The entire process for the hand-painted silk Anthropomorphic Fans is carried out artisanally in our own workshop. We start with the design of the silk pattern, drawing and coloring the silk piece stretched on the frame, then fixing the dye with steam in a steamer. The fan process continues by sizing the silk, pleating it, mounting it on the sticks, and applying the final finish. As a result of this meticulous process, each piece is unique, exclusive, and completely handmade.
Care
We recommend storing the fan folded with its elastic band to maintain the pleats, and placing it in its case for protection.
Materials and Size
The ‘paรญs’ or painted silk piece attached to the sticks is initially white natural pongee silk. The piece is painted on a frame before assembly with special steam-fixation silk dyes, thus guaranteeing lasting color intensity with use.
The sticks are made from polished Spanish pear wood with the โaeaโ Artisan Spanish Fan seal. Each fan comes in a box and a cover.
The length of the hand-painted silk Anthropomorphic Fan is 19 cm.
