Description

The Gestural Organza Fan, in hand-painted silk, stands out for its elegance, transparency and delicacy. Its design is based on spontaneous, improvised gestures over a coloured background. Each fan features different random shapes made with golden gutta lines on painted natural silk organza. It’s an ideal model for ceremonies, events and special occasions thanks to its sleek, elegant, lightweight feel, created by its dagger-style ribs combined with silk organza.

It’s also ideal for everyday use, especially on very hot days, thanks to its lightness and the coolness this fan size gives you.

The entire process for each Gestural Organza Fan in painted silk is done by hand in our own workshop. We start with the silk design, drawing and colouring the silk piece stretched on the frame, and fixing the dye with steam in a steamer. We then continue with the fan-making process: stiffening the silk, pleating it, and mounting it onto dagger-style ribs made of kotibe wood with the “aea” Spanish Artisanal Fan seal. The result is a unique, exclusive, fully handcrafted piece.

Care

We recommend storing the fan folded with its elastic band to keep the pleats, and placing it in its sleeve for protection.

Materials and size

The silk leaf attached to the ribs is natural organza silk, initially white, painted on a frame before assembly with special steam-fix silk dyes.

The ribs are made from kotibe wood with the “aea” Spanish Artisanal Fan seal.

The length of the Gestural Organza Fan in painted silk is 27 cm.
